Boomer, my English springer spaniel loves this toy, it is by far his favorite since he was a young puppy. He is three now and although the original toy is still useable it was showing a little wear so I purchased a second one for his third birthday. This toy now has like cotton and polyester strings through the toy tied into knots it easily to chews a part with the dogs, sticks in their teeth and makes a mess, Also easily pulls right through out of the rubber chew toy . After less than one day I ended up throwing away this knotted ball of string and I threaded some fleece strips through the toy and made large nots at the ends, it is now holding up quite well To a pretty aggressive puppy chewer. But I pretty much had to make my own toy
