The little Green LED light at the top of the switch ensures you that everything is in working order. We had a pretty bad electrical storm not long after ordering this product and when all of the other lights in the house dimmed, the Television set didn't flicker, so at $21 dollars, I feel that it has already paid for itself. One last note, for all those who are concerned with having only, or prefer, "Green" products, this power strip is ROHS Compliant; meaning it meets all requirements under the California Compliance Code.
