My last Timex and why.

New edit. Upon further reflection, Iāve only had, a couple of exploratory years with Swatch excepted, Timex watches.
My first one was when my mother replaced the Chicita Banana ātickity tockā sticker with a real Timex wind up watch before my first Cub Scout camp.
In addition to many other Timex products, Iāve had these Ironman watches for the past 25+years. Usually the band wears out and canāt be replaced after three or four years. This particular watch fell apart less than six weeks old. It wasnāt hit by impact. It just came apart while I was driving down the road. I wonder if theyāve changed their manufacturing process. What is truly infuriating is that rather than replacing it, because it is truly a warranty issue, the told me to ship it to their offshore repair facility (which could take 3-5 months) and pay what might be half the value of the watch. Things happen, but the intentional friction they have created to avoid their obligations borders on malpractice and speaks to their indifference toward customer experience and subsequent lifetime value.
