It goes right through thick weeds and rock hard dirt to edge a lawn or trench. Like I said our previous one lasted ten years and worked just as well in year ten never replaced the blade once. This one came with a back up blade as well which is a bonus. Highly recommend this. Easy to assemble. Takes five minutes. Durable. Powerful. There is hieght adjustment as well. Well worth the price!
