Nagel 2023This piece is inspired by the iconic artist Patrick Nagel I used my broken technique on his popular 1980s graphic stylization of women as an homage to the poster art of his, I had hanging in my apartment during most of my 20s. I painted the canvas in his semi jewel tone muted colors but was able to achieve this vibrant representation of the artwork as I incorporated the icons into the piece.

A perfect film, closely accompanying a public toilet cleaner in Japan. It doesn’t hurt that the actor Koji Yakusho, reflecting his responses to his routine, is very handsome. I was surprised to see it listed as a Wim Wender’s film, the German filmmaker best known by me for the very strange Wings of Desire. It’s one of the best Japanese films I’ve seen!
