The strap is a little worn and does seem like its a replacement, but it looks like it would be difficult to remove. The crystal is scratched up a bit and the black of the face has some bubbles in the paint. It seems like it was probably moist a few times in its life. Definitely sturdy for a hearty chewer, but my dog wasn't that interested in it. For a treat I spread some peanut butter on it and the design has grooves so she spends some time licking the peanut butter. And it comes with 3 good size chew toys, so cheap enough to try and your dog might love them. Taking out of packing they did have that meat smell as advertised
