Freddie Slack - Mr. Five By Five: The Singles Collection 1940-49 (CD)It's a highly entertaining showcase for the range of his music, especially his renowned boogie woogie piano. Freddie Slack was a boogie woogie pianist and swing bandleader who started out with Jimmy Dorsey's band in the 1930s and subsequently racked up a string of hits in the 1940s, first with the Will Bradley Orchestra and then leading his own band, some of them with the fine singers Ella Mae Morse and Margaret Whiting on vocals. Clare Lydon does it again. The inclusion of the royal family dynamics combined with the use of infamous landmarks like Balmoral Castle and Buckingham Palace were exquisite. The storyline of the footballer, Ashleigh so authentic to England and princess, Victoria, so believable. I loved the characters portrayed whether Ash’s friends or the Queen Mother. They were just perfection. I loved this story. Great job.

Egads what a game!

Format: Kindle

Clare Lyndon has just given us a treat in the form of a coming out, royals, and a footie World Cup! I am delighted to say that this book began with me in full laughter and then kept me giggling for quite a few chapters. Then the love bloomed, crashed but did not go out! This was a heart warming tale well written and loads of fun to read.

Rollercoaster of a ride

Format: Kindle

I have to admit, sports romance is one of my two favorite tropes; the other being celebrity romance. I don't think Clare Lydon could write a bad book if she tried. The Princess Match is a rollercoaster of a ride. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Superb debut!

Format: Kindle

Wow! I loved this book so much! I've been a pro tennis fan since I was a little kid, so I put this book on my TBR the moment I saw it. However, had I known about the supernatural soulmate/soulmark element (first time I've ever heard of that trope) I would have moved it to the top of the pile IMMEDIATELY. Now I can't wait to read more, both in that trope and from this author. A great debut, and I can't wait to read future books from this writer!
