The Spirit of New Orleans And the Characters Who Live ThereBy: Christopher Briscoe Published by Shifting Gears Publications, 2019 04 09 New Orleans is a fascinating blend of cultures, music and people. They dance and drink at funerals. They close shop early, leaving a note on the door to explain that they cut their finger and they've got a gig to play that night. An exotic dancer sees herself as a healer, a burglar sees himself as a collector, and most see outsiders as the ones who are missing the big party.

There was obviously care and thought put into the creation of this neat little book. I was expecting something along the lines of the "Book of" series from a few years ago, but this has lots of little cool touches that make it stand out. It is a bit pricey, and you can read the whole thing is an hour or less, but it is a book I would love to revisit from time to time and show to friends, so it's worth the cost.
