The starter fit perfectly, in my Mercruiser 4.3 from 2004, although it was awkward to replace on my engine due to space constraints. Bit Longer than Genuine Quicksilver Starter Not same fit

It’s close to the Quicksilver Mercruiser starter but it’s not the same length and size. Also the internal gear sits differently. My 2012 Tahoe Mercruiser Alpha 3.0 has a back bracket that would not fit on because this starter is longer. I didn’t take the risk of testing it out by starting it as I noticed the gear inside sits a bit different and there is a knob on the front of the housing as the original does not. I’m not taking any chances. I just returned it and ordered the actual Quicksilver Starter that’s a little more $$ but totally worth it to have a proper fit.
