Once you nail the knack of separating them, you'll find them sturdy and versatile! I use them for everything, especially when I don't have time to do dishes! A typical day involves working outside, running in to grab lunch on one of these plates, then using the plate to keep parts together for whatever I'm working on. A magnet underneath does wonders, combined with the plate lip to keep small bits from flying everywhere! I also use them under potted plants.
