It features a black painted steel buckle and blackened brass D. O. T. rivets. D. O. T. was the successor to United Carr and their rivets are seen on chinstraps produced from 1945 until the P55 liner's replacement in the mid 1960s. The designer of this van made it difficult to find a good solution for phone mount. I tried 4 different mounts until this, and it's perfect. The only problem is the holder itself- it's kinda crappy. The good news is that the mount uses standard sized ball joints so I took an old magnetic mount and mated to this, perfect phone mount.
