CHINA NITE "HOI TOI" TEECOLOR: SILK CHARCOAL CHINA NITE'S "HOI TOI" WATCHES OVER THE 'VARD FOR DECADES. CHINA NITE CAFE OPENED IN 1963. IT FEATURED A HAPPY BUDDHA STATUE HOLDING UP A NEON SIGN. THE LEGEND GOES THAT THE HAPPY BUDDHA'S ROTUND BELLY WOULD BE PIERCED BY ARROWS FROM SCHOOLERS AS THE CRUISED THE 'VARD. THE RESTAURANT CLOSED IN 2007 AND THE BUDDHA WAS REMOVED IN 2008. THE BUILDING WAS DEMOLISHED IN BY 2012. WORD IS THAT BUDDHA IS QUIETLY SUPPORTING A DECK IN
