The name of the city as So Salvador appears for the first time in the letters of lvaro I (15681587) which was carried on by his successors. The name was changed back to "City of Kongo" (Mbanza Kongo) after Angolan independence in 1975. There is a view of Loaga on the reverse side of the print.
